Rare Pink Sea Glass

Posted by

Did you know that the odds of finding pink sea glass is 1 in 1,000? Pink glass was primarily used in the production of tableware during the Depression era. It is likely that the pink sea glass that collectors are finding was 'sun colored' due to the process of adding selenium to the original piece. The piece would begin it's life as clear glass and once it's left out in the sun it goes through a process that has it becoming more and more pink in color.

We hope you've had the chance to find some pink during your treasure hunting adventures!
